CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND STARTS TODAY!

The 2008 NB ZIP™ MLL Championship Weekend kicks off today from Harvard Stadium in Cambridge, Mass. 

Starting at 12:00 PM ET,  #1 seed Rochester Rattlers will play the #4 seed Philadelphia Barrage.  Finishing the season with a League best 9-3 record, the Eastern Conference Champion Rochester Rattlers earned the #1 overall seed in the playoffs by virtue of their 19-15 victory over the Chicago Machine during the last weekend of play, coupled with the Denver Outlaws (8-4) loss to the Boston Cannons (7-5) that same weekend. This is the second consecutive season that the Rattlers have finished with a 9-3 record. The defending MLL Champion Philadelphia Barrage head into this season’s playoffs as the #4 seed, having lost to the New Jersey Pride in overtime by a score of 17-16 during their final regular seson game.  The game will air love on ESP2 and ESPN2 HD, and will also be streamed love on ESPN360.com.

At 3:00 PM ET, the #2 Denver Outlaws will play the #3 Los Angeles Riptide in the second semi-final. Los Angeles fell to the San Francisco Dragons by a score of 19-15 during the final weekend of play, but was assured the 3rd seed due to the fact that the Barrage also suffered a defeat. That game can be seen live on Comcast New England, Comcast Sports South, Comcast West, FSN Rocky Mountain, Cox Sports Rhode Island, Cox Sports New Orleans, Time Warner Albany, Time Warner Buffalo, Time Warner Rochester, Time Warner Syracuse, Catch 47 Tampa, and as always on ESPN360.com. The game will air at 7:00 pm on Cox San Diego and at 11:00 pm on FSN Pittsburgh.  The second game will also stream live on ESPN360.com.

The two Semi-Final winners will advance to the NB ZIP MLL Championship Game at 1:00 PM ET on Sunday, August 24.  Saturday’s first semi-final game, as well as Sunday’s Championship Game will air live on ESPN2 and ESPN2 HD.
