Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving MLL Fans! We sincerely hope you have the opportunity to spend tomorrow with your loved ones, enjoying your meals and sharing your favorite lacrosse stories around the table. We also hope that you stay safe and careful if you are traveling short or long distances to visit friends and family.

We asked some of your favorite MLL players how they planned to celebrate and what they were most thankful for and here is what they had to say.

"We celebrate our relationships, friends, and most importantly, family on this Thanksgiving. The Rabil household always takes the Holiday season to go down memory lane. Love you Mike and Becca!" – Paul Rabil, Boston Cannons

“This year I am very thankful for family and my hometown of Long Beach NY. This year we finally get to have a thanksgiving in our hometown after superstorm sandy canceled it last year. I am very thankful for my family and town getting through everything after the storm and that we all get to be together in Long Beach and enjoy

our thanksgiving.” – Mike Skudin, New York Lizards

“I am thankful for my health and the health of my family. I am also thankful for all of the love and support from

family and friends around my engagement to my fiancee Hannah.” – Mitch Belisle, Boston Cannons (Pictured right during his proposal)

“At the end of the summer my dad suffered some life threatening health issues, but is now in the middle of a STRONG recovery.  This has made me very thankful for the great doctors who saved his life, and thankful for my family and friends who were constantly visiting and supporting my immediate family.  You don't realize how much support you have, from those closest to you, until you need them the most.  I can only hope that I will be able to let those people know how much their support has meant. So this thanksgiving I am most thankful to be a part of a family that gets stronger during troubled times, and that my dad will be sitting at his traditional spot...The kids table with my little cousins.” –  Matt Bocklet, Denver Outlaws

“I am thankful for the many mustaches grown during Lacrosse Mustache Madness in support of the HEADstrong Foundation!” – Ken Clausen

“7 glorious years ago, my 4 best friends and I began a tradition. The Saturday after thanksgiving we hung out and deep fried a turkey in my buddy's driveway. Now this has blossomed into an annual holiday of its own known as "Meatfest."  In my parents' backyard back in Springfield, PA all of our friends and family get together and using 2 deep fryers, a grill and outdoor fire pits, we Cook all day from 10am to nightfall.  It's become our favorite holiday and it gets bigger every year.

Some items from last year:

Deep fried turkey

Deep fried cajun turkey

Deep fried duck

Fried candied dumplings

"Bacon explosion"

Chicken wings

Grilled sausage and onions

Buffalo Chicken Egg Rolls

Deep Fried "uncrustables" – Greg “Beast” Gurenlian, New York Lizards

“I couldn't be more thankful for my family, their support and everything they've done for me to achieve the dreams and goals on and off the field. If I wasn't encouraged to pick up a stick at a young age, my life would be on a very different path. Without them, I wouldn't have had the joy of playing the game that I love, which has ultimately shaped me in to who I am today.” – Chris Eck, Boston Cannons

“I am thankful for all of my loved ones, especially my family.  Although I don’t see them as much as I’m used to now that I’m on the west coast, nothing will ever come before them.  I’ve been blessed enough to have a mother, father, and two brothers that are healthy, happy, and supportive in everything that I do.  Happy Thanksgiving everyone!”– Justin Turri, Denver Outlaws (Pictured left with his family)
