Atlanta Trades Myles Jones to Chesapeake

Atlanta, GA (June 14,2016) – Atlanta Blaze have traded  Myles Jones to the Chesapeake Bayhawks in exchange for Matt Mackrides. The Blaze will also receive Chesapeake's true 1st round pick in the 2017 Collegiate Draft while the Bayhawks will receive Atlanta's true 2nd round pick in the 2017 Collegiate Draft. 

Jones, drafted by the Blaze with the first overall pick in the 2016 Collegiate Draft, made his debut two weeks ago against the Boston Cannons. He scored two goals and added an assist in his debut, even connecting with former Duke teammate, Deemer Class, for his assist. 

Mackrides was selected 26th overall by the Bayhawks in the 2012 MLL Collegiate Draft. Mackrides has played in all seven games of the 2016 season for the Bayhawks, totaling eight goals and seven assists for 15 points. He has also added seven groundballs. Throughout his career, he has played in a total of 48 games, scoring 60 goals, including one two-pointer, and tallying 34 assists. Mackrides was also just named to the 2016 MLL All-Star Team. 

The Blaze and Bayhawks will meet for the second time this season on Thursday, July 21st in Annapolis, MD. Chesapeake traveled to Atlanta for the Blaze's season opener and came away with a 16-13 victory.
