Week 12 Warrior Defensive Player of the Week: Joel White

The Dallas Rattlers' long stick midfielder (LSM) Joel White, the 2016 Warrior Defensive Player of the Year, has been named the Warrior Defensive Player of the Week for Week 12. It is White's third weekly award of the season, having also been named in weeks five and eight.

Dallas is the first MLL team to have clinched a playoff spot and the unsung heroes during the club's current six-game winning streak are defenders like White, who have helped limit opponents to less than 13 goals per game during the stretch. White collected seven ground balls and caused two turnovers in the Rattlers' postseason-clinching 14-9 win against Charlotte this past Saturday. He and his defensive mates limited the Hounds to just 19 shots on goal and forced 22 errant attempts.

White, who just turned 29 on July 5, has collected 29 ground balls in six games this season. The Syracuse graduate and Cortland, N.Y. native, who will play for Team USA in the World Lacrosse Championships, also has caused eight turnovers, has contributed three assists and scored one goal this season.
